VILLAGE INCOME TAX
The Village of Minerva Park levies a tax of 2 percent on all earned income of its residents. The income tax is the primary source of revenue that pays for police and fire protection and capital improvements. The Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) collects and administers the village income tax.
All residents are required to file, annually, an income tax return or an exemption if there is no income. Exemptions are available for those under 18, retired, US Armed Forces and others.
If you work in one of the surrounding cities and income tax is withheld for that work city, one must still file a tax return and pay the Minerva Park income tax. There is no credit for income tax paid to other municipalities. The Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) collects and administers the village income tax.
