In 2019, a group of residents were elected to a Charter Commission to draft a proposed charter for the Village of Minerva Park. Although the Charter was not approved in November of that year, many lessons were learned.
The Council of the Village of Minerva Park believes that a Charter would be beneficial to the Village, and will be placing a ballot issue on the May 2026 ballot. The ballot issue was approved, and 11 members were elected
